Georgia - D9465 Outbound Exchange to Italy 2016

Ciao

I am Georgia Kowald, I come from a small country town called Katanning in the great southern region of Western Australia. I am currently on Rotary Youth Exchange in Milano, Italy. I am having the time of my life, I have been in Milan since the 24th of January 2016 and the time has flown. The flight to Milan from Perth airport was 17 hours with one stop over in Doha. Rotary are a great network of people that have and will continue to help me with any problems that I and all exchange students may come across on our exchanges. Already I have a great bunch of friends and have been involved with many activities not only with Rotary but also with my school. I've been to Venice and I've been skiing, I've visited many places around Milano such as Como and I've met a lot of people along the way. School is a great place to be it was hard to start with but people generally are pretty nice and easy to get along with. Within the first week of my exchange I had joined a basketball team and now I train with them 3 times a week. Nothing on exchange is ever as it seems but that is all part of this amazing experience. Some days are not always as good as I say, homesickness  and the language have been the hard part of my exchange. Italian is a very hard language not only to learn but to understand and makes it hard to communicate with friends and host parents. There are so many activities and opportunities to look forward to during my year on exchange and I would like to share it with everyone. I have a weekly blog if anyone wants to check out what I'm up to during the year. It's has a lot of pictures and lets people know of my experiences whether they are good or bad.
